“We are proud to work with our sourcing partners, Baho Coffee, to bring this special, single farm lot to roasters.”
Jean Marie Vianney(JMV) Usekanabagoyi learned sustainable farming practices through local cooperatives, significantly improving the quality of his yield. His dedication allows him to provide for his family and send his children to school. JMV's story is one of pride, a testament to hard work and the rich legacy of Rwandan coffee farming.
Located near the town of Kavumu, the land surrounding Ngoma station is covered with dense forests and peppered with hills. The station was built in 2005 by the Rwanda company, MIG (Multisector Investment Group) Coffee, who received help from a USAID program aimed at renewing Rwanda’s coffee industry. Today, Ngoma is co-owned by MIG Coffee and Coffee Business Center (CBC).
MIG is a private initiative supported by the government of Rwanda that works in the development of Rwandese agriculture.
Ngoma Station, recognizing the exceptional effort that JMV makes to ensure only good cherry is delivered, took special care to separate his delivered cherry for individual processing, maintaining traceability to farm level. This is rare in Rwanda, where most farmers (due to small scale production) have their coffee processed along with other farmers delivering to the washing station on that day. Ngoma CWS selected Anaerobic Natural processing to further add distinction to this already special lot.
